Seriously, that thing needs the batteries recharged, but I keep forgetting.
This week, I worked on a couple more fabrics for my spoonflower account. I used some public domain bits that I found and put together a couple of cool patterns. I also got a fat quarter of my new rose pattern that I really love. You can check out my studio with all my fabric here: http://www.spoonflower.com/designs?look=three&number=24&sort=newest&view=for_sale
What I really want, is one of those pen things that you can get for creating graphics on the computer, instead of trying to control the mouse, I can draw with a real pen? Yeah. One of those. I want one. Maybe I should take a graphic design class or something. I am really getting a kick out of this fabric thing. Next week is the rhino theme contest and the voting on that theme will start. There again, I think I would do better overall with one of those pen things.
I have been having a difficult time teaching Emma to write, color, and cut paper. It's really been a difficult process and I have been worried. She is plenty old enough to be writing and drawing. This last week, mom and I really ganged up on her to see what we could accomplish and both of us noticed that she still was unable to decide on what hand she wanted to use. With some persistence, she seems to have settled on being a lefty. A lefty!? I had been trying to teach her how to write, draw, and cut with her right hand. Once we settled on the left hand, she finally FINALLY wrote her first letters this week and drew her first smile face. Up until now, it has been nothing but scribbles. She was even using scissors. A little late in the game, but now that we discovered the problem, she should finally catch up. Man. A lefty. Who knew? On the other hand, now that she is able to draw and write letters, she has been drawing on everything and even decorated grandma's gazebo with sidewalk chalk. Personally, I am sporting a very well drawn letter "I" on my arm, a kidney-shaped heart, and a sideways letter "U." Permanent marker, thank you very much.
