sugared ginger and thoughts

I'm just sitting here munching on a piece of sugared ginger.  It makes my tummy feel good.

Yesterday was my day off.  The best part of it was, the sun was out and it was warm enough to be in a T-shirt as long as you were working, which I was :)  I spent the day  digging up flowerbeds and transplanting some of the rogue daylillies that are taking over the back yard.  I wanted to be able to save some, since eventually we will be digging out the backyard and starting from scratch.  I discovered that I indeed have an outdoor spicket!!!  WOOO!  I know, almost everyone has one, but I seemed to have lost the use of mine at the farm and I never realized how daggone handy they are.  It seems this one was used a lot, because there was quite a hole carved out of the ground where the water splashes down. I was going to fill it and plant hostas, but realized I have kids that will just let the water run making a hole again and killing anything planted there with the hose or feet.  I went exploring and found a pile of neat rocks buried under some leaves and filled the hole with those.  It looks kind of pretty now.

Fishing opener this weekend!  I'm so excited!  I happened to find about a dozen night crawlers yesterday while digging.  I kept them and I'm set now for Saturday :)  Dean's solo and ensemble concert is also Saturday at 1.  A quick sing and we are outa there.  I figured the kids and I can fish while BIL grinds stumps out at home.  Hopefully we can avoid his charming self all weekend.

Now, to decide where to go and fish...
