baby, it's cold outside

Today I was lucky enough not to have to walk all the way down to mom and dads to get the van.  Curt, who always takes the van to work cold or not, came home for lunch and I was able to drive to the post office.  I know, how lazy is that?  Well, it's really, REALLY cold today.  In my own defense, I walked yesterday.  Anyway, I went to the post office and sent out a couple of packages to a couple swap partners.  One swap was to send your partner a travel mug.  Since I have the decorate-yourself mugs, I sent one of those with some tea to the UK.  The other one went to Florida and was tea and a surprise.  I found this tea bag dispenser a while ago for only 2 dollars and had been saving it for a swap involving tea.  Its really cute and I think shes going to like it.  I always liked the giving part of swapping better than the getting.  I tend to go overboard and then get a teabag and a piece of lint in return, but like I said, I like the giving part.

There is a huge building down the street that once housed the town coffee shop.   The coffee shop has been closed for a year now and the building is empty.  There is a large apartment upstairs, the downstairs is the coffee shop area with a full basement underneath and an attached garage.  I have had 3 dreams now in which I bought that building and ran the coffee shop myself, Curtis working out of the garage and Dean living the bachelor's life upstairs...this morning my mom looked over at it and wondered how much that building was.  I told her I have had 3 dreams about owning it.  She looked at me and said, ME TOO!  Weird.
In a way, I would love it.  I could rent the upstairs, curt would have his garage to work on cars again, I could serve coffee, have free Wifi, sell my stuff...I don't think I would need anything fancy, I would basically want it as a place people could go and visit, hang out, get warm, watch TV.  I wouldn't want to run some big crazy shop that I couldn't just shut down when I wanted to flop off someplace.  All in all, it would have to be a situation where I would have to own the building outright so that I wouldn't have to make any money to make my payment.  I can be open when I want, be closed when I want...It will never happen.

This May I'm taking a trip to the lower part of the state to visit friends.  Maybe loop down through Madison and over through Wausau, then home.  Maybe I can influence these friends to come up and camp with me at the cabin this summer...I'm going to be spending most of my time there while its warm.  I have a camp shower now.  Daggoned excited about it too.  I want to make sure to stay through mushroom picking, research some wilds, make up some recipes...

*I had to drive past the old house yesterday.  It makes me sangry.
*I've been signing up for free samples like mad lately.  Not really sure why.  Though, A friend I was talking to tonight said simply, "I like getting stuff."  Me too.
*I won a dollar on a lottery ticket today.
*I went to Bargain Bills the other day and found some shelf paper that looked just like stainless steel.  It was NOT a bargain, but I got a roll so I could play with it.  I see...stickers...or something.
*here my day off is almost over.  I have nothing to show for it.  Maybe I'll sew up some postcards.
