Okay here is the lowdown. Yaya got strep throat the other day and came home early. I went straight down to Glenwood to have her swabbed and sure enough, strep. Some amoxicillin and tea and she's back in action.
Curtis was taking a shower this morning...wait. I need to back up and explain a bit.
My bathroom was once a bedroom. My house was originally built with no running water, so the bathroom is not really supposed to be a bathroom. This worked out well when it was a toilet and seldomly-used bathtub only, but when I moved in with all my kids, we decided to install a shower, which would have been fine if we had also installed a bathroom poop vent, which we didn't because the task was too daunting-it can wait until we can afford it-maybe next weekend-etc. Anyway, over the last 5 years, I had notice the ceiling panels sagging a bit. I brought this up to Curtis-Super-Fix-All-Eventually-Man, who acknowledged the words passing over my lips and...thats about it.
So, Curtis was taking a shower this morning when all of a sudden I hear a loud thunk and scuffle, followed by some loud swearing and, well, more swearing. When I went in the bathroom to see what all the fuss was about, Curt was standing there, sopping wet and covered with blown insulation, dust and thousands of those horrible dead Malaysian Lady Beetles. The ceiling was all over the floor of the shower and I had to walk out of the bathroom and quick shove my face in a pillow so I could laugh without getting in too much trouble.
By the time I was done laughing, I had tears streaming down my cheeks, which I totally passed off as tears of sadness, which worked out perfectly when I felt a hard chuckle coming up later-I could simply cover my face and pretend I was sobbing. I'm not sure if I really thought it was funny, or if I have finally passed over into that cartoon insanity you see when Wile-E-Coyote has been beaten and squished and generally bad-lucked to the point that he just bursts into peals of laughter. Not real sure what we will do now.
I have some pictures I am cleaning off the camera.
This is a glove prototype I'm messing with. It's fall now so I have the itch to crochet.
Here is Yaya on the first day of school. Her outfit is so cool.
And here's my Tiny talking about world peace and
gummy bears with her Daddy.
OKay, Well, there is some work going out of TAT for my job I'm going to get done for some extra lines and supper is in need o' cookin'...
