Lat night I checked on the cordial and Whoa! My flowers were starting to get a little drunk. I guess next time, I should make sure to steep in the fridge for 5 days instead of on the counter when its warm. Its okay though. I strained out all the flowers through a cotton towel and boiled the clean cordial to sterilize it and went ahead and canned some. We tried it last night. Its really good. Not a winter drink at all, but a really light and fresh summer drink. So here is how we served it:
1/4 cup cordial
1 cup club soda
1 lemon wedge
over ice.
It's good. We will be doing this again :)
I also juiced and canned my cherries that I got from my hommie, Heidi's, tree the other day. I decided to go with no sweetener and just canned the juice. That way I can sweeten it with honey later as I use it. Good thinking right? Cut down on the calories and sweetening with local honey keeps away colds and flu and boy germs.
Yes. My camera is still up north. Sue me.
Okay, this post is totally boring. Let me sum up. I got a dehydrator and its filled with blueberries, I got a new steamer that is big enough for a whole meal (YAY), and the bee balm is blooming which is my new homeopathic project o' fun. More on that later. Yes. You have to wait. Oh, and I have an ingenious herb-dryer-in-a-can invention to reuse my Curtis' chewing tobacco cans!!! I see a new uniqueeuphoria.etsy.com item in the works... More on that when I have a camera. Yes. You have to wait.
So Emma got hold of a nice big and awesomely functional ink pen. She just loves to draw-that little stinker; however, it seems she is breaking out of her Crayola-sketch-pad paradigm and has taken to artsing all over my sheets. I have white sheets with some very imaginative, contemporary, abstract kitties all over them. It seems a king size bed is the ideal palette for a budding artist such as Emmalyne. Did you know hair spray takes out ink pen? Who knew my sweetly-vain little teenager's beauty supplies would come in handy? Thanks Dean :)
The job search continues. I have a ton of tests to take, but now I am deciding who I want to test with. I've decided that MTStars.com is an unreliable sight to go asking about companies that I want to work for. They are such a bunch of whiners; however, I did get a message from one place that does pay 8 cents a line. Since I've never made more than 6cpl I'm kind of excited for the extra 2 pennies. We will see. Enie meenie minie mo...
I had to take mom to her doctor's appointment yesterday and we got caught in a deluge of rain. I was determined to save my windshield from any hail that might have ensued-the sky was threatening me and my windshield-so I insisted on parking in the ramp. My plan went perfectly until we had to cross the street to get into the building...heh...lets just say it's a darned good thing I was not wearing white. Both mom and I were dripping and soaked through as we squished down the hall. A nurse came around the corner and said, "Ooo, is it raining?" Um...no?
Oh, miss Emma is standing beside my bed with her head on the bed sleeping. This is my cue to get the camera...oh wait, ITS UP NORTH. Sigh...I'm gonna go hang up my bee balm to dry and pout.
