It was my Curt's birthday yesterday. The kids and I made him a cake. I am absolutely no frosting artist, so I kind of let the kids help with the decorating. For those that don't know, Curtis is a mechanic...hence the tools/grease and oil cake:
It really does look like his shop floor :) Well, the areas of white are a bit inaccurate...
Anyway, he loved it. I got my house together yesterday and paid a bill. Luke had done some work at Grandmas and had a little money to spend so we went to the dollar store. I got a zester so I can get those lemons zested and frozen that are in my fridge, some bubble mailers, a gargoyle thing that is screaming to be something...a glass jar to etch, some playing cards for the cabin, 2 packs of bath soap and some staples. The kids got tattoos, a balloon for Tiny, and...I don't know what else.
when I had gotten home i was surprised with a sweet care package from my friend Lauren. She sent me some Old bay seasoning (yay!) some earl grey tea, a felt hair flower for the girls, handmade earrings, handmade oatmeal and honey soap, which I tried out last night and it was lovely), and a really cool toy for Emma.
Lastly, I went onto freecycle and saw there is a large dresser up for grabs right here in town. The girls need a new dresser and I really want to get them set up in bunk beds before the summer is gone. Hopefully this dresser is paintable and I can make it pretty for the girls. Going to go get it this afternoon.
