Again.
I wish I could say I was going to do all these awesome mom things today with the kids, but I'm kind of a single mom until Thursday.
Curt's grandmas passed away on the first, and with help from his mom and my sister in law, he was on a plane by the 2nd. The funeral is today and he is due back home on Wednesday night late.
So, Saturday was Dean's solo and ensemble and he sang a song called Wither Mayest I Wander. He forgot the words twice and was unable to hold out the note at the end, which I attribute to nervousness, but I was worried he bombed it. His judge was VERY lenient, but nevertheless, he did a good job and is going to state. Being an old hand at singing contests, I told him the state judges would not be as tolerant, and it would be a good idea to exercise his diaphragm and STOP SMOKING, to help with his note holding and generally learn the words. He has private voice lessons and this is something he is to cover with his voice teacher.
I think my Dean-o has finally found his niche. He can sing beautifully, enjoys voice lessons and is very excited over going to state. He is trying out for a scholarship for money to pay for private lessons through the summer and next year there is honors choir and Dorian Festival. WOOT!
Girly-friend spent yesterday with us. She is really nice, a kickboxer. I love this girly friend. He also went to the gas station and got fuel for the furnace for me so we don't run out before Curt comes home. We have been putting fuel in 5 galons at a time, since as soon as its warm enough, the oil is coming out and LP is going in. I don't want to be stuck with a tank half full of deisel when its all over.
Today I paid the phone and internet, the rent, sent off pictures of the kids to the in laws (they got their spring pictures back--as a bonus I was able to take Luke and Emma in for pictures too!) and now I'm getting ready to put in my shift and take a walk this afternoon if it warms up. I would go to the gym if I had the money. Broke till Friday now. I might end up doing a tape.
Tomorrow, I will be at the hospital at 7 in the morning with Yaya, so she can have her tonsils and adenoids out. I plan to take the day off, but if we get back in the afternoon and she is sleeping, I might work and get my lines in.
Wednesday I am taking Yaya to snooze at mom and dads while I go to therapy for the first time, get the house cleaned up all the way and wait for Curt to come home from the airport.
I got this. Now if I can just have someone teach me how to change my windshield wipers. I noticed I need new ones some kind of bad. Maybe dad can show me. I could probably figure it out on my own if I worked at it enough.
